Summary of the Position:

This role reports directly to the Director, APAC Assistant Controller and includes a broad responsibility for the financial accounting & reporting function in various of our APAC legal entities, Finance support for Functional Leaders and general administration support for the operations in in those entities. The role works closely with our APAC HR Manager team.

 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Monthly financial reporting activities in accordance with the Corporate Close schedule tasks & timetable and as directed by the APAC Controller, including:
    • Maintaining accurate trial balance on Netsuite (ERP)

o   Bank account / Cash balance reporting

o   Month-close accounting

    • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations completed without material misstatements and errors;

o   Financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of monthly variance analysis and Corporate reporting of monthly/quarterly/annual analytics

o   Review and authorize intercompany transactions

o   Management of Transfer pricing calculations and entries

 

  • Treasury Management:

o   Review and authorize cash payments including taxes and vendors

o   Management of Cash Flow forecasts, balance management

o   Co-ordinate with Corporate Treasury for FX Trades, Merchant & Credit Facilities

o   Manage local banking relationship with CitiBank

 

  • Local Statutory, Audit & Tax Compliance

o   Management of local taxation requirements for various APAC legal entities with support and direction from Corporate Tax team, and external tax firm

o   Prepare information and documents as requested by External Auditors and Tax Firm for the annual statutory audit, financial statements and tax return

o   Value Added Tax, FBT and Payroll Tax Filings

o   Company Secretarial Duties and liaison with Corporate regulators

o   Other compliance activities as necessary

 

 

  • Finance Support

o   Provide Finance support to local Functional Leaders, particularly Sales & Development

o   Input to annual budget process and explanation of variances in actual performance by Cost Centre and Expense type;

  • Other

o   Ensure compliance with Corporate Policy and Taxation

o   Ensure US GAAP and AASB compliance

o   Work with Local Management team to ensure our business practices comply with the Corporate Ethics and Compliance standard

o   Establish and Maintain a system of internal controls to meet the Corporate compliance requirement with Sarbannes Oxley Act, with support from Corporate team;

    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with overall Finance Team members in APAC and the US / Europe
    • Ad Hoc Reporting and Project Management

 

Requirements

 

  • Accounting degree and 7 years experience or 10 years relevant Financial Accounting and Business Tax Compliance experience

ยท        CPA or equivalent certification with experience working with a multinational company.

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience and understanding of Australian and New Zealand statutory requirements
  • Hands on role with broad range of responsibilities
  • Strong computer literacy (Netsuite or similar, Microsoft Office suite, COUPA, Concur)
  • Ability to work and deliver within tight deadlines and willingness to work longer than standard hours to ensure a task is completed on time when required
  • Displays initiative in the carrying out of their duties, constantly looking for ways to improve processes to promote efficiency or strengthen control
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent communication skills and strong English language skills (written & spoken)
  • High degree of accuracy and reliability in financial accounting
  • Willingness to take on additional projects or workload from time to time
  • Mature approach to work and ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to identify areas of concern and raise to appropriate level of management
