We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Experience professional to join our sales force as a Country Sales Director for the South & East Africa region, based in Johannesburg.

 

The Sales Director is an integral part of ensuring Genesys achieves revenue targets. As a Sales Director, you are responsible for managing a team of Account Executives and a Reseller Partner Manager, and you will focus on driving revenue (hyper-)growth and bringing in net new business from prospects and current customers. You ensure your teams of Account Executives and Reseller Partner manager is solving the business needs of prospects, customers and partners, and you are responsible for all coaching and developing the talent within your team. This is also achieved through the support of additional resources - such as Sales Development Rep’s, Solution and Business Consultants, Professional Services and Partner Success Managers – whose goal is to help your team close deals. Apart from the managerial role, you will also manage a couple of the most strategic accounts in the region.

The strategic value of the role:

Develop and manage sales talent while achieving overall team quota to drive revenue for Genesys:

  • Create Career Action Plans for individual members on your team
     
  • Improving talent within the sales team by providing individual coaching, training and feedback
     
  • Support the expansion of the Genesys footprint within current customer accounts through cross-selling and up-sell opportunities
     
  • Provide management with necessary insight into field sales team with suggestions and recommendations for ways to improve performance
     
  • Manage a couple of very strategic Enterprise accounts in the region

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Train, develop and coach sales talent to world-class status
     
  • Identify customer needs and effectively illustrate to the team the need to understand and respond to perceived customer risks
     
  • Enable sales reps to connect the client's business objectives with Genesys offerings and solutions
     
  • Provide best practice guidance around how to negotiate and close as many sales campaigns as possible
     
  • Provide expertise around particular areas of interest to discuss industry best practices and development of high-level strategies
     
  • Effectively manage a team who sells the Genesys portfolio of products across a wide range of industries
     
  • Enable the sales rep to assist the customer in maximizing the return of their investment with Genesys
     
  • Build and expand relationships with Economic Buyer in prospect and customer accounts, where necessary
     
  • Help your direct reports establish themselves as a 'Trusted Advisor' to the prospect or customer
     
  • Bring net new and innovative ideas to direct reports to share with the customer
     
  • Assist in creating an environment of teamwork and continuous improvement
     
  • Further develop and manage a few of the most strategic accounts in the region
     
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence (i.e. strong business acumen)
     
  • Ensure the Johannesburg office is a healthy, comfortable and efficient place to work and meet for the regional employees, and visitors like partners, prospects, customers, suppliers and potential new employees.

  • Proven record of managing teams that meet/exceed established goals
     
  • Ability to communicate and present to Genesys management as required
     
  • At least 7+ years previous business-to-business experience in the, in one or more of the following areas with a documented track record of success:
     
  • Senior Enterprise Account Executive
     
  • Sales Management
     
  • Complex and Consultative Sales Environment
     
  • Experience in the Enterprise software or Customer Relationship Management industry, selling Software as a Service
     
  • International business development experience(s)
     
  • Experience selling with and through reseller partners
