Location: Indy office preferred - Hiring Manager will also consider Durham, NC, Burlington, MA, SLC, UT and Daly City, CA - Remote worker may be considered if exceptional!  


The Data Architect will be an integral member of the Business Intelligence team in the Genesys IT group. The BI team is chartered with defining and executing an enterprise business intelligence strategy. This includes BI solutions & Data Warehouse implementation, data access, data science environment and dashboard creation in a partnership with business and IT stakeholders. This hand-on role encompasses all aspects of data management, conceptual, logical, and physical.


Grounded in business, you are also fluent in technology, able to assess current technical environment and develop technology requirements and conceptual solutions to meet business objectives. You are a confident professional with broad skills in analyzing and solving complex business problems, writing and presenting, facilitating and coaching. Candidate is comfortable working with all levels of the organization, from the executive suite to the front line, and is equally comfortable working independently.  



  • Provide thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data analysis, and database design and implementation 
  • Define and drive execution of data strategy including architecture, modeling, implementation, and data management for data warehouse and data analytics  
  • Establish standards and guidelines for design, implementation, and sustainability of databases and data management systems  
  • Create and revise enterprise conceptual, logical, and physical data models 
  • Revise and enhance data dictionary definitions, governance practices, and standards 
  • Designing and building complex data pipelines in a large-scale data environment 
  • Recommend and develop environment for data scientists 
  • provide leadership and guidance with enterprise data strategies  
  • Partner with security architects to ensure compliance with data security and privacy mandates 
  • Oversee end-to-end data lifecycle management activities 
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging data management and storage technologies and standards 
  • Partner with business users & data owners to capture data & analytics uses cases and outline actionable data requirements 
  • Mentor and teach other team members and business partners  
  • Provide leadership and education on the value and use of information & operational data 
  • Promote and facilitate the development of self-service capabilities for the business in the access and reporting of data 
  • Participate in the definition of the global data strategy 
  • Identify and implement industry best practices 


  • 5-7 years of data architect experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in creating data models (logical & physical) & streamlining data processes 
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms and ETL tools 
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and ability to build and run complex queries 
  • 5+ years of business experience, with demonstrated project management or managerial skills 
  • Experience with Cloud BI & DW solutions (experience with AWS and Snowflake SaaS environment a plus)  
  • Proficiency in statistical and other tools/languages (R, Python…) 
  • Experience with AI/ML solutions and Predictive Modeling  
  • Experience working with data streaming technologies (Spark…) 
  • Experience in data quality and data governance 
  • Experience using Agile/Scrum practices 
  • Experience with source control systems and issue tracking (git, Jira, etc.) 
  • Appetite for learning and field-testing technologies 
  • Ability to innovate and to effectively deal with rapid change in a positive manner 
  • Influential in driving process change within the company 
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, organizational and time management skills 
  • Strong initiative, proactive and ability to meet deadlines 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent training skills 
  • BS/BA is required, MBA preferred
