Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Summary of Position:
 

This role will be responsible for assisting in the implementation, support and enhancement of the automation tools developed by Genesys Professional Services. 

 

You will work closely with some of the top experts in the Genesys PS Practices and Partner community on to build and implement best practices within the tool set and to drive adoption across the user base, to deliver customers value faster and more reliably, through cutting edge automation tools and techniques.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and support Linux based appliance used to drive Chef automation.
  • Maintain and enhance docker containers used as part of the automated deployment process.
  • Maintain continuous delivery pipeline via Jenkins.
  • Engage with Automation development team to influence product direction and perform usability testing and quality assurance of the tools prior to general availability to the field.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise on Genesys automation tools, both operation and configuration
  • Advanced understanding of Chef/Devops methodology
  • Contribute to internal Genesys knowledge stores and knowledge management system though development of technical documents and “playbooks” and other artifacts associated with automation.
  • Create workshops to share knowledge and expertise within user community
  • Coaches junior – senior level consultants
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 5+ years of DevOps industry experience
  • BS in technical discipline and/or equivalent job experience.
  • Proactive, innovative thinker who possesses excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Technical skills– Linux/Windows, database, virtualization and networking
  • Prior experience using Infrastructure Automation tools, Chef or similar technology for deployment
  • Team Player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and quality delivery
  • Demonstrate Problem solving and critical thinking to address customer challenges and “can do” attitude
  • Operate as a virtual team member by focusing on communication within the team
  • Programming experience, specifically shell scripting, Python, WMI, SQL.
  • Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary.

  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills (English is a must).
  • Knowledge of Cloud change control processes.

  • Strong follow-through, ownership & responsibility on tasks assigned.
  • Effective time management and maintains flexibility

Work Context

  • Uses computer frequently
  • Valid Passport for international Travel

Travel Tolerance: 10-20% - However flexibility may be required, per the needs of the business. 

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Telecommunication/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Computer Technology/or related discipline or equivalent professional technical experience
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Prior experience with Genesys Implementation and/or Administration is highly desirable but not a requirement
  • Good technical problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in troubleshooting challenging configurations.
