Director, Global Commissions

Genesys is seeking a passionate individual to lead a team of Commission Analysts to administer our global commission plans and sales incentive payment calculations. With a focus on process improvement, you’ll play a key role in optimizing our current workflows to increase efficiency, evaluate processes and systems within the administration process. This position has executive exposure and will collaborate with finance, HR, and sales/services leadership to ensure operational alignment. The ideal candidate will be a partner to the business, comfortable owning a process, and is diligent in ensuring accuracy. The position requires a high degree of attention to detail, and self-motivation to execute with little management oversight.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage day to day operations of our sales and services incentive compensation plans globally, ensuring payments are accurate/timely and paid in accordance with the plan
  • Ensures that compensation plans are clearly documented and in compliance with applicable national, regional, and local regulations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting for commissions in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards, including under ASC-606.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of commissions activity and works closely with accounting team to ensure accuracy of books and records.
  • Assist FP&A team with monthly forecasting and annual budget of commissions activity.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees, managers, and sales leaders to address questions regarding compensation plans, and perform research as needed to help resolve issues, and develop appropriate solutions to resolve exception payment requirements.
  • Builds models to evaluate alternative designs for incentive compensation programs and collaborates with Sales and Finance colleagues to determine the cost of sales impact of different plan design alternatives.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of compensation programs by tracking and measuring their influence on key business results such as revenue, cost of sales, profitability.
  • Coordinates annual review and restatement of plan documents.
  • Coordinates the timely process of issuing Goal Achievement Plans (GAPs) to compensation plan participants.
  • Tracks the issuance and receipt of GAPs and ensures that participants’ questions and concerns are addressed.
  • Conducts periodic training with participants and managers to ensure that plans are well communicated and well understood by participants.




  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
  • At least 12 years of experience in compensation management, including strong experience with incentive pay/commission programs (preferably Callidus).
  • Executive presence, ability to adjust communication style to varying levels of leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional groups and influence without authority.
