Are you an accomplished Human Resources Professional that is interested in working for a 5000+ employee global software company, with a talented HR team, that develops and delivers complex people related solutions to drive the company’s strategy forward? If so, this is the role for you.

 What this role is:

In this role you will assume the overall HR leadership for Hungary.  You will be in “build mode” --- establishing the HR function and drive full-cycle HR for the country and support other European initiatives as needed (strategy, organizational design, talent, benefits, etc.).  Partnering is what we do, so while you are building the team and driving growth. You will partner across Global HR, the business and other. You’ll report to the Vice President People - Genesys Cloud & Digital. 

What this role isn’t:

This isn’t an HR police role. It’s also not a “manage and don’t do” role. We are looking for a leader that knows the market and can work as a strategic partner in a hands-on style addressing the challenges of beginning a new function in country. You will work directly with our business leaders as they plan and develop workforce strategies, ensuring engagement, all while navigating scale for an agile and quickly evolving cloud company. You will work in a highly-matrixed environment including the global units within HR to implement business strategy for recruiting, workforce planning, employee engagement, and much more!

What you’ll bring to the table:

We are looking for someone with country and region expertise with a global perspective – although the role is in Hungary, we have employees throughout the world. You must have be technically adept at your craft, and possess fantastic people skills as we need someone to lead, listen and partner, consider the issues at hand, and connect the dots at scale.    

Some details about what you will do:

  • Build a team and drive growth with business leaders across the globe.
  • Partner with business groups to communicate and execute the human resources philosophy, vision, and strategy.
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand their business and talent challenges.
  • Develop creative industry leading people solutions to global problems.
  • Coach leaders and your team through challenges.
  • Various other tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • You should have a degree or two. But we value experience more. A lot of it. You will need at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A deep knowledge of full-cycle HR in Hungary.
  • Experience in establishing an HR Function, startup or M&A.
  • Advanced analytical skills, mastery of Excel and PowerPoint, and HR information systems.
  • Experience with a fast-paced organization. 
  • Experience effectively managed teams, preferably in a matrixed environment.
  • You must be a good communicator, partner, influencer at all levels in the organization, including senior leaders as well as having a commitment to customer service. People who are difficult to work with or just want to do their own thing don’t do well here.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to key Genesys offices as needed.
  • Personable, sense of humor, and pleasant to work with.


Safety for our employees and our communities is a key priority for Genesys. We continue to experience rapid growth during the Covid-19 pandemic and are conducting remote hiring and onboarding processes. All hiring and onboarding processes are being conducted remotely at this time. We utilize Zoom video meetings and phone calls during the interview process. We will be working remotely through at least June 30, 2021 in most locations and we are re-evaluating the opening date of our all the Genesys offices on an ongoing basis.
