What this role is:

You will partner with a product group in North America to help them think about the people implications of everything they do.  You will work on the usual, talent acquisition, compensation, ER, data integrity, etc.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to establish credibility as a strategic partner, playing a consultative role to employees, managers, and leaders to manage change and transformations for a transformational software company.

 

We are looking for a proactive and strategic partner, someone who can quickly build relationships, diagnose people and organizational issues, and have the courage to have crucial conversations at all levels of the organization. Someone who can balance the strategic with the tactical.

What this role isn’t:

You aren’t the HR police.  It’s also not the kind of job where you can sit at your desk and wait for the phone to ring. The role isn’t one with fully built out processes, metrics and support mechanisms.  It isn’t for you if you don’t enjoy building from the ground up. 

 

What you’ll bring to the table:

To be successful, you need to be able to be credible, resilient, and thrive in ambiguity.  As Genesys is growing and transforming rapidly, new challenges emerge and need to be addressed immediately.  You’ll need to quickly and effectively assess situations, organizing thoughts & plans, and execute flawlessly.  You’ll have proven experience asking provocative questions, while at the same time being respectful – keys to establishing yourself as a credible partner.  Being resourceful and detail-oriented, while at the same time flexible, are also a key to success on our team.

 

Some details about what you will do:

  • Embed yourself with one or more product groups to provide a range of consultative support to employees, managers, and leaders on topics such as performance, development, culture, structure, and other people-related topics
  • Work closely across the HR function and with your peers in Talent Acquisition, Comp, OD, and Training to deliver customized, innovative HR solutions to real-time business challenges
  • Identify, articulate, and lead HR projects in areas that are both critical to Genesys as well as tap into your personal or developmental interests
  • Given the growth, there will be a lot of focus on talent … from headcount planning, to attracting diverse talent, to onboarding and culture – there is a lot of green space here!

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • You’ll need 2+ years of relative experience. The more experience you have as an HR generalist or partner through times of uncertainty or change, the better!
  • You also need to have a basic understanding of HR laws and a nose for risk.  
  • You’ll need to be self-directed, while at the same time open to feedback, coaching, and development.
  • Decisions in HR are not black & white.  It is critical that you have excellent judgment and perspective.  We need to think through issues from many angles and help others do so too!
  • You’ll be communicating with team members both in the office and in remote locations. Having strong communication skills is a must for our team.
