Inside Sales Manager – Tokyo, Japan

 

As the Team Lead for Sales Development Team, you will support the Senior Manager of Sales Development - APAC with daily operations of the frontline Sales Development Reps (SDR’s) in Japan.

Your remit will focus on total new pipeline quota for the sub region and leadership capabilities.

The Genesys model supports the Enterprise segments (longer sales cycles, more stakeholders, and more complex solutions) as well as a more structured approach for the Commercial and Mid-Market segments. (Shorter sales cycles, less stakeholders, less barriers to adopt solution).

The Team Lead needs to provide motivation, monitoring, and coaching for all segment skill sets of the SDR team members. This role is to support our effort in creating cross-functional alignment with sales, marketing and customer care to build a consistent, predictable, and scalable pipeline for total revenue growth across all Mid-Market, Commercial and Enterprise segments; via the participation in organisational POD formations.

For this role it is also essential that you are bilingual in English and Japanese.

 

What You’ll Do:

In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage and mentors the SDR team to carry out daily prospecting, identifies, qualifies and cultivates a blend of inbound and outbound sales leads via strategic planning, intelligent calling, targeted prospect company research, utilising intent buying signals across a wide range of channels – social, email, phone, events, chats utilising some of the most sophisticated prospecting tools used by Genesys (SFDC, Outreach, Zoom.org, LinkedIn, Marketo, Eloqua etc.).
  • Monitors the team are accurately recording and following the internal qualification generation process guidelines in the company’s global CRM and task management systems (Outreach)
  • Builds strong partnerships with marketing and sales to form part of the strategy for the Japan market
  • Manage marketing and sales activities to ensure the sub regional team are fully briefed on forthcoming events and their workload is organized to manage the prioritization and timeliness of completion of opportunity qualification
  • Delivers measurable results in concise reporting format directly to the Snr Manager Sales Development - APAC.
  • Ensures that KPI’s are met such as number of qualified leads, appointments set, and percentage of conversion rates, total bookings revenue, win rates etc., and show targeted quarterly improvement.
  • Responsible for ongoing performance feedback along with creation and delivery of probationary and annual performance reviews.

 

What do you need to have.....?

  • BSc/BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or a related field; MSc/MA/MBA is a plus or equivalent work experience
  • Proven business-to-business experience in a successful inside-sales, marketing, lead generation environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Understanding of the telecommunications industry and call centre technology preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organisational and verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in all operational MS Office product suites, Salesforce.com and other CRM platforms
  • Comfortable working within a fast paced and analytical environment that requires willingness to learn and apply new concepts and strategies quickly.
  • Travel expectations are dependent on sub regional team requirements so need to be willing and able to travel within Japan. However, the role will typically be office/home based.
  • Bilingual skill set and fluency in Japanese and English are ESSENTIAL.
