Genesys is looking for a Principal Enterprise IT Architect to lead the effort in organizing the current IT Enterprise architecture, understanding the current and future business needs and defining the future architectural landscape including the multi-year execution roadmap.  The Principal Enterprise IT Architect will lead an Architecture council comprised of IT and Business constituents to assist in the selection of software technologies and provide guidance on integrating these technologies to support the current and emerging business capabilities.

To be successful, the individual in this role must have deep solution architecture experience as well as an understanding of technical trends and innovation. This individual must also have a strategic thought process, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence senior leadership. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of technology, applications, industry standard methodologies, business processes and architectural patterns to drive business and IT objectives. Prior experience with SAP/ERP, Salesforce CRM, CPQ solutions, Enterprise class HRMS will be preferred.

Reporting to the CIO, this position involves building high-quality architecture solutions as well as providing expertise and guidance on the design and establishment of architecture standards that align with current and future business needs. This role develops and maintains the enterprise architecture and drives the adoption of new technologies. The individual in this role plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of architecture and alignment to the organization's technology direction.


  • Define and maintain detail current and future state application architectures, frameworks and roadmaps. Ensure compliance and successful execution of the plans as outlined in the roadmap.
  • Facilitate the adoption of integration patterns to ensure the applications are integrated well and the data flow is consistent.
  • Promote and evangelize shared application services to encourage reuse, reduce costs and improve information flows.
  • Analyze and evaluate cloud solutions and set standards for both adoption and usage patterns.
  • Partner with the functional IT teams to ensure that solutions align to reference architecture model and technology strategy.
  • Review technology-related investment proposals and verify accurate application solution estimates are provided, proposals are consistent with software architectural guidelines/standards, and potential risks have been identified.
  • Lead multi-functional teams on software and application technology selection, design considerations, evaluation criteria, due diligence requirements, proofs of concept and any other related software technology selection and adoption techniques.
  • Participate as an integral member of the IT management team responsible for defining and implementing IT strategy, capital plans and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Manage the Architecture Council and ensure that the architectural standards are being met as we execute on the IT roadmap.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership.
  • 10+ years of IT experience in design and implementation of enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated ability developing enterprise architecture models and strategic roadmaps, or equivalent practical experience. Experience working with Enterprise Architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman is a plus.
  • Proven experience providing oversight for multiple, concurrent IT software development work.
  • Proven experience managing the evaluation, selection, delivery and performance of technology solution providers and offerings.
  • Strong business and technical acumen with understanding of EA tools and techniques. Experience with ERP, Salesforce CRM & CPQ, HRMS is a huge plus.
  • Strong software development experience and background.
  • Detailed understanding of modern application development frameworks.
  • Demonstrated understanding and familiarity with standard IT process and application development methodologies.
  • Experience with application development in a cloud environment.
  • Proven experience leveraging and adopting software technology design standards, processes, methodologies, tools, and maturity models.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, market forces, regulatory environment and business strategy; must be able to translate business strategy into architecture requirements.
