In this role, you will ensure revenue contracts/orders are in compliance with applicable standards and policies and that any operational and accounting issues and/or risks are addressed prior to submission to Revenue Accounting.

 

  • Partnering with Order Management and Revenue Accounting teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of orders prior to booked Revenue Accounting
  • Assist in identifying and driving the root cause resolution of issues by working with various departments including Revenue Accounting, IT, Order Management and Billing
  • Create/Manage and Interpret output from reports to ensure contract and order completeness within the order to cash cycle
  • Apply knowledge of ASC 606 to the review of order documents and agreements and ensure compliance with Genesys' revenue recognition guidelines
  • Work with Order Management and Revenue teams to develop policies and procedures that streamline the order to cash processes
  • Apply knowledge of internal controls over the revenue accounting process to ensure compliance with SOX
  • Proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with various cross functional teams across the company
  • Participate in cross functional project initiatives that will streamline the order to cash process
  • Implement process improvements to correct action identified in order to enhance the customer experience and drive operational efficiencies.

What you bring to the team:

 

  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Financial accounting coursework or relevant experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a revenue accounting role required
  • Understanding of revenue recognition as it relates to ASC 606 and SaaS
  • Strong Excel skills (index, pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.)
  • Can analyze and interpret large sets of data
  • Experience with RevPro, NetSuite, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must be flexible to work under time constraints and deadlines
