Summary

The Senior Business Analyst, Business Intelligence will be an integral member of the Business Intelligence team in the Genesys IT group. The BI team is chartered with defining and executing an enterprise business intelligence strategy. This includes BI solutions & Data Warehouse implementation, data access and dashboard creation in a partnership with business and IT stakeholders. In this hand-on role, the Senior Business Analyst, BI will help us on our journey to become a more data driven company.

 

 

Grounded in business, you are also fluent in technology, able to assess current technical environment and develop technology requirements and conceptual solutions to meet business objectives. You are a confident professional with broad skills in analyzing and solving complex business problems, writing and presenting, facilitating and coaching. Candidate is comfortable working with all levels of the organization, from the executive suite to the front line, and is equally comfortable working independently.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the key stakeholders to develop the BI (Business Intelligence) processes, strategy and analytics roadmap for Genesys Organization.
  • Partner with business users & data owners to capture data & analytics uses cases and outline actionable data requirements.
  • Outline specific project plans and milestones for BI, Data & Analytics initiatives.
  • Work with technical and business teams to define appropriate technical solutions
  • Present and communicate requirements, findings and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Provides hands-on support to provision data from a variety of internal sources.
  • Build reporting and meta-data models to support strategic data initiatives.
  • Build complex reports and dashboards
  • Provide guidance and insight on BI development techniques and prototyping.
  • Provide leadership and education on the value and use of information & operational data.
  • Contribute to the design and support of the BI environment, including information & data acquisition, management and delivery solutions.
  • Participate in the definition of the global data strategy.
  • Promote and facilitate the development of self-service capabilities for the business in the access and reporting of data.
  • Provide global support and train users on BI tools and methodologies.
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging BI, Data Warehouse and Data technologies and their potential application.
  • Identify and implement industry best practices.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Architecture, Data Visualization, Data Warehousing.
  • 5+ years of business experience, with demonstrated project management or managerial skills.
  • 5+ years of experience reviewing and writing Technical & Business

Requirements in relation to Business Intelligence, data Management or software development projects.

  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and ability to build and run complex queries.
  • 3+ years of experience with reports and dashboards development.
  • 3+ years of experience in operational, management or financial reporting as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Demonstrated background and proficiency with various BI tools, ETL platforms & databases (experience with Talend ETL and Tableau Software a plus).
  • Experience with Cloud BI & DW solutions (experience with Snowflake SaaS environment a plus)
  • Experience in Data architecture, including data modeling (logical & physical)
  • Experience in data quality and data governance.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong familiarity of the BI industry, vendors, products and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of project & program management techniques and tools (Agile/Scrum master certification preferred, experience with Jira a plus).
  • Strong initiative, proactive and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized and timely manner.
  • Ability to innovate and to effectively deal with rapid change in a positive manner.
  • Influential in driving process change within the company.
  • Proven customer service and support focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good Training skills.

 

BS/BA is required, MBA preferred.
