What this role is:

You will lead the global compensation function, which leads and is responsible for strategic and financial oversight of all compensation direction and programs in 40+ countries.  You will add value by building a global function that spotlights how compensation enhances our ability to attract, engage, and retain our talent. This is a critical, visible role, with a focus on strategy, partnering with HR in every location, and vendor management, as needed.


As a company we are focused on experience as a service and part of that strategy is accelerating our cloud adoption, being an innovator in cloud delivery and to continue to support our install-base. You will uniquely support this strategy in your ability to deliver compelling compensation that matters to our candidates and employees.


What this role isn’t:

This isn’t a “delegate and watch it happen” role.  We are looking for a thoughtful leader and strategic partner to work in a hands-on style to address opportunities for Total Rewards programs that help our leader solve real business issues related to employee engagement while supporting our global people strategy.  You will work in a highly matrixed environment including the global units within HR to implement our total rewards strategy to help drive the business towards its goals!


What you’ll bring to the table:

We are looking for someone with a true global perspective – although US headquartered, we have more employees internationally than domestically. You must have multi-national compensation experience, be a technical expert, and possess fantastic people skills as we need someone to lead, listen and partner, consider the issues at hand, and connect the dots at scale.   And, don’t forget to bring your empathy.  It is critical to how we do business!

Minimum requirements:

  • You should have a degree or two. But we value experience more. A lot of it. You will need at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in corporate settings, both public and privately held, and experience across all compensation specialties are all pluses.
  • Prior public company experience is a plus – those people know how to dot the i’s and cross the t’s as is experience with a readiness event.
  • Advanced analytical skills, mastery of Excel and PowerPoint, and HR information systems.
  • Experience with a fast-paced organization. 
  • You must have effectively managed teams before. You are going to manage direct reports and be a matrix leader to others around the globe.
  • Experience with internal and external reporting/disclosures requirements, audits, and M&A due diligence and integration.
  • You must be a good communicator, partner, influencer and be committed to customer service. People who are difficult to work with or just want to do their own thing don’t do well here.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to key Genesys offices as needed.
  • Personable, sense of humor, pleasant to work with.
