Senior Product Designer - Design Systems

As a key member of the UX design organization at Genesys, you’ll be helping to create and evolve a whole new genre within the Customer Experience industry; Experience as a Service.

 

In this exciting role, you will be a critical member of the design system team who will evangelize and evolve the Genesys design language, crafting, reviewing and building on top of growing component and design pattern libraries. You will work collaboratively with Product designers and Engineering teams assisting, articulating, and driving our look, and consistency to the next level.

 

You will also demonstrate the value of the design system by inspiring and communicating the impact and advantages of the system while stepping in to solve Genesys’ biggest challenges through close-knit collaboration.

 

As a valued member of the Design System team, you are a go-to person, can work collaboratively or autonomously, and serve as an expert in user-centered best practices to people across the organization. As a confident communicator, you can work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team comprised of myriad levels of experience.

 

We’re a recently formed design system team where finding the right fit is paramount. We place high value on having the right attitude for learning and listening, and embodying the right emotional sensitives needed in a complex and increasingly remote workplace. It is acceptable that the candidate’s experience with design systems is limited and still being defined as we are looking for an individual to grow with us. However, we place great emphasis on qualities that will complement our team’s flexible culture.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively design and research UI components, interaction models and other UI models into Genesys' Design System
  • Work with product designers and product teams to define, develop and support new components, templates, and interaction models
  • Promote best practices for complex workflows and user experience
  • Evolve the look and feel of Genesys' design language, its components and design patterns
  • Document design guidelines and actively share knowledge on how to best utilize the design system to other members of the design and engineering teams. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Product Design, or related discipline preferred.
  • 5-7 years of professional interaction and design experience with a proven track record of delivering innovative experiences while applying user-centered design processes.
  • Experience in ideation, storytelling, visualization, and design principles.
  • Understanding of atomic design principles
  • Knowledge of user testing.
  • Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Excellent knowledge of visual design principles including layouts, color theory, typography, iconography, etc.
  • Familiarity with designing for web and mobile platforms (iOS, Android, etc.).
  • Experience with industry leading graphic tools as needed (Adobe Creative Cloud including XD, Sketch, Figma, etc).
  • Outstanding visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Online portfolio displaying your work and your contributions to them.
