The Genesys University Technical Strategy and Innovation team (GUTSI) is responsible for building, deploying, and administering customer facing platforms designed to improve the quality of the customer experience.

Among those platforms are the Genesys Knowledge Network (know.genesys.com), the Genesys Community (community.genesys.com), and Genesys Beyond (beyond.genesys.com/explore) – our new learning platform offering customer experience courses, skills development and certification training.

A successful software engineer here will:

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Write and deploy quality production code in a cloud-based microservice architecture.

  • Write unit tests and help implement and adhere to a forward-focused QA strategy.

  • Create and maintain documentation of processes and applications.

  • Communicate and collaborate with QA and Development on tasks.

  • Provide high level support; resolve problems and answer questions related to supported applications.

  • Ensure compliance with defined SLAs.

  • Adhere to the Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in CIT, CS, or other related fields; or 4 years equivalent experience.

  • Experience with one or more server-side technologies: Node.js, Python, Java, etc.

  • Experience with one or more build tools, Webpack, Gulp, Grunt, Babel.

  • Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems.

  • Working experience with REST API back-end services

  • Experience with Linux operating environments.

  • Adequate knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems

You might also be experienced with:

  • Amazon Web Services (Lambda, Dynamo, S3, SQS, SNS, etc.)

  • Front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, Sass/Less, JavaScript.

  • Angular or Ember (or another MVVM or MVC).

  • WordPress.

  • Typescript.

  • Git.

  • Jenkins.

  • Node.js.

  • Salesforce.

  • Development methodologies such as agile, automated testing, continuous integration and delivery.
