We have an excellent opportunity for a Sr Revenue Analyst to join our EMEA finance team based from our office in Frimley.

The primary function of the role is to support the EMEA revenue team in carrying out its daily functions, and to assist in the supervision of these tasks.

The role spans revenue order reviews, determinations and adjustments, deferred revenue analysis, account reconciliations, controls review and documentation, working with the business to maximize revenue recognition, cost of sales accounting and other ad-hoc requests. 

Key Responsibilities:


The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to). 



  • Part of a team that ensures that all revenue is accounted for in accordance with Genesys policies and accounting guidelines, i.e. ASC 606

  • Working closely with Order Management, Collections, Operations and Sales Personnel to meet the above team objective.

  • Review of qualifying customer orders to ensure compliance with the Revenue Recognition Policy and accounting principles

  • Deferred revenue account analysis and reconciliation on a monthly basis.

  • Revenue account reconciliation to GL and forecast.

  • Determining and processing appropriate revenue adjustments and other journals.

  • Running and maintaining the Revenue Review Report.

  • Management of the Genesys Partner Rebate process.

  • Significant Excel analysis and manipulation of data to support the monthly close process.

  • Support the revenue function in the design, test and implementation of a new revenue management tool as we adopt ASC 606 standards from 1 Jan 2019.

  •  A variety of other processes to ensure the team meets its monthly and quarterly objectives.

Cost of Sales 

  • Accounting for third party cost of sales to match with the associated revenue from accruals through to generating POs and reconciling account


  • Part of a team that is responsible for ensuring quality of invoices and credit notes generated from Netsuite (Genesys’ ERP system) to ensure timely cash collection and accurate revenue accounting.

  • Supporting the overall Order to Cash process flow (approval workflows and reviews of qualifying orders).


  • Maintain necessary financial and control records along with supporting documentation related to Revenue for audit and Sarbanes-Oxley purposes.

  • Assisting other aspects of the department to ensure we collectively meet month end deadlines appropriately.

  • Carrying out periodic compliance testing across all lines of business (SSP).

  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects.    

Minimum Requirements:

  • Highly Excel literate

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a software or order to cash environment

  • Sound understanding of general accounting principles

  • Analytical thinker

  • Works well within a team

  • Ability and willing to learn new systems and processes quickly 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proactive

  • Organized

  • Confident and assertive

  • Friendly, approachable

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure and detailed knowledge of SOP 97-2 and ASC 606 accounting literature (i.e. up to date knowledge of Software Revenue Recognition)

  • Netsuite / Salesforce / RevPro (or similar) systems experience

  • Team lead experience

  • European VAT knowledge

  • An additional European language
