Job Description

Job Purpose:

Key software developer, with a specialization in front-end/UI development, in a team responsible for defining, prototyping, and developing the next generation of smart applications and tools in the Genesys Care portfolio. The primary role of the developer is to contribute to front-end UI development efforts, but when needed and where the experience allows, would also contribute to other back-end development tasks, documentation, and design activities within an agile sprint. 
 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to front-end development of the team’s various tools for both premise and cloud
  • Maintaining and refactoring the existing codebase
  • Write and maintain unit tests for front-end components
  • Assist with the development of test plans and test scenarios for new product features
  • Perform code reviews for other members of the team
  • Attend daily scrum calls and participate in all agile development meetings (sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.)
  • As experience allows, contribute to other related development tasks as required by the team (back-end development, manual testing, design contributions, troubleshooting issues, customer support)

 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering, other Programming Diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Min 4 years of experience as software developer, or other relevant experience
  • Experience using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like ReactJS, Redux or Angular
  • Experience with writing front-end unit tests using common JS Unit testing frameworks
  • Experience developing/testing RESTful web APIs
  • Use of XML and/or JSON
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Superior problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player

 

Experience in the following areas would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of Genesys products or other CTI technologies
  • Elastic Stack (ELK) – Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana, Elastic Beats
  • Object-Oriented programming skills in Java
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and writing MicroServices
  • Familiar with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with OSGI applications and knowledge of OSGI Frameworks such as Karaf
  • Knowledge of actor-based development using the Akka framework
  • Knowledge in Python
  • Knowledge in GO
  • Machine Leaning and Artificial Intelligence experience/knowledge
  • Knowledge of mobile application development/testing
