Senior Software Engineer in Test

Location: Durham, NC or Remote (US) 

  

Genesys provides one of the best cloud-based Customer Experience (CX) service offerings, which handles millions of interactions a day enabling our customers in the Contact Center field. Our infrastructure involves hundreds of services deployed across 9 environments globally, and we push out dozens of product builds per day using top-notch CI/CD pipelines.

We are looking for a talented Sr Software Engineer in Test to work with multiple Genesys Cloud R&D dev teams, supporting back-end services.

Does this sound like you?   

  • You have experience building/maintaining test frameworks for backend services. 
  • You are proficient in Java.
  • You have experience with writing API automation scripts and validating APIs
  • You have a working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Ability to use version control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket
  • You have 5+ years of professional automation testing experience.
  • You are a strong problem solver with a desire to make significant contributions. 
  • You can prioritize tasks and work independently when provided with relevant information. 
  • You enjoy and contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, empathy, and fun. 

  

Would you enjoy working together to accomplish these goals? 

  • Help design and implement test frameworks for the new services. 
  • Work with existing Java-based testing framework to implement REST API tests. 
  • Occasionally help with JavaScript UI testing when necessary.
  • Develop performance testing strategies using tools like locust and add them into the CI/CD pipeline. 
  • Coordinate bug hunts to gather user feedback for new features 
  • Being the SME in the architecture, design, and customer use cases for the service.  
  • Identify acceptance criteria for complex projects and determine priorities for test automation to balance operational efficiency with sufficient test coverage 
  • Mentor other engineers on the "art of testing" to build a stronger team and solve complex problems 
  • Foster an inclusive working environment where every team member is positioned for success 
  • Learn and Teach by participating in code reviews, direct collaboration, and open discussion of ongoing work
  • Work with the product organization and your team to plan and estimate projects
