The Role

The Vice President,  Finance Process Transformation will be responsible for architecting Genesys’ finance organization for rapid scale and growth. Reporting to Larry Katz, Chief Financial Officer, this individual will lead cross functional programs across Genesys to improve our processes, controls, and systems to support our growth from $1.5B in revenue to $3B.   This leader will work closely with our CAO, Internal Audit, IT and other leaders across the CFO Organization and the Management Committee to simplify and automate processes, to instill a culture of controls and compliance, and to drive change management disciplines across initiatives.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • SOX Controls:  Partner with Internal Audit to design and implement controls to ensure company’s compliance with 404.

  • Data Governance: Design, build, and lead Genesys’ nascent data governance program for Finance, Customer, and Vendor data.


Various special projects such as:

  • Credit Memo Remediation:  Lead cross functional program to analyse credit memo activity, identify root causes, and and remediate systematically in partnership with Sales, client success, product, IT and finance

  • Contract Database: In partnership with customer success and procurement, implement a comprehensive and reliable centralized contract database which can serve as single source of truth for all client and vendor contract

  • Vendor Risk Management:  In partnership with our Global Procurement Organization and Treasury, create global standards, controls, and compliance program to manage and monitor Vendor risk

  • ERP: Partnering with our CAO, IT and functional owners, serve as business lead for ERP upgrade program, including design, implementation, and process redesign/optimization

  • Channel Compliance: In partnership with sales and customer success, develop a scalable program to streamline Channel compliance across regions

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success leading a global finance transformation program, including developing an enterprise data management program, implementing an enterprise resource planning system, and streamlining financial processes. This individual will be a proven executive with experience leading or significantly contributing to a high-performing internal audit, risk management, finance, IT, and/or controllership function, ideally in a software or global technology company. The successful candidate will bring both strategic vision and best-practices to guide transformation, coupled with a hands-on and tactical approach to enable effective implementation. The individual will demonstrate strong business judgment applied to routine and complex issues and a healthy dose of professional curiosity when addressing business and accounting issues.

 

The successful candidate will quickly grasp company operations and business drivers, and will possess a high degree of integrity and independence. The individual will have international experience working with and/or establishing overseas financial operations and controls.

 

Additional qualifications include:

  • “Hands on” and willing to get into the details to understand business processes at a deep level with track record driving efficiencies to manual processes and introducing automation.

  • Significant transformation experience, ideally gained in a public or PE backed growing software company,

  • Proven success as Transformation leader of complex global business advising top management on issues relating to process, technology, data and internal controls.

  • Demonstrated ability to simply communicate complex concepts and implications to stakeholders across the organization.

  • Self-motivated, team player who can credibly communicate with and relate to people at all levels in the organization, with the experience and ability to motivate, manage, rally and mentor the team. 

  • Demonstrated executive presence and exceptional communication and presentation skills to both internal and external audiences, including Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Senior Management.

  • Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining key talent

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross culturally and to succeed in dynamic environment.

  • Experience conducting business in a competitive marketplace with rapid change and transformation will be valued.
