The VP of Revenue Accounting will lead our global revenue accounting functions partnering closely with Revenue Operations, IT, FP&A, Legal, External Reporting, Sales and other teams across the company, and influencing & driving results for a wide array of business initiatives. The VP of Revenue Accounting will serve as the finance organization’s subject matter expert on revenue accounting and engage with the business to provide revenue recognition compliant solutions, including contract reviews, non-standard sales deals, new product introductions, etc.

This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and is a people manager.


  • Oversee the team in preparation and maintenance of accounting records, monthly accounting close activities including variance analysis and revenue assurance. Lead the team to ensure the development, modification and maintenance of internal controls within accounting processes to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of our consolidated financial records and statements, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Ensure that our accounting records are closed timely and accurately in compliance with our accounting policies and US GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Provide thought leadership, guidance, and strategy on technical revenue recognition matters; providing guidance to team members and other cross functional teams on how to apply revenue recognition guidelines for SaaS and on-premises offerings.
  • Ensure the team maintains knowledge of current accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements to support operational application and representation in the consolidated financial statements.
  • Develop and enhance processes and controls around revenue related financial metrics.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting solutions for enterprise projects, new product offerings and process simplification and improvements.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required. CPA strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience within the finance operations and accounting organization; preferably within a high-growth environment;
  • Minimum of 10 years in a leadership/management position in an accounting organization, with demonstrated ability and track record of success in driving change and improving operations.
  • Software revenue recognition experience in a technology and/or services company is required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • A deep understanding of the revenue accounting in SAAS company with Global Operations is required.
  • Experience with one or more financial ERP/general ledger systems, Salesforce and RevPro is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a Big-4 or equivalent national accounting firm is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization and across functions. Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to build relationships, a good listener with outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities and a natural, effective consultative style.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent time and project management skills - can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced business culture.
