This new role represents the unique opportunity to craft, implement, and continuously optimize a sustainable strategy for a leading software company from scratch. This strategy will focus on creating shared value, i.e. optimizing the social and environmental impact of our operations while supporting growth of the Genesys software business. The leader of our sustainability efforts will work closely with the entire senior management team of Genesys and build a world-class Sustainability function that oversees and implements the organization’s sustainable strategy. Specific focus of this position includes stakeholder engagement, integrated reporting, strategy management, greenhouse gas abatement, social sustainability (including using cloud software to drive a positive impact on society), and compliance with major sustainability standards, just to name a few.

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Stakeholders include company leadership, employees, customers, partners, and the public.  Recruit internal and external leaders from these stakeholder groups into the Genesys Sustainability Council.

Sustainability reporting and assurance:
  • High quality reporting of the social, and environmental impact of our operations including the mapping of non-financial and financial performance (integrated reporting).

Certification and recognition:
  • Submit our performance to relevant bodies (e.g. DJSI, EcoVadis, GRI, CDP, etc.).

Continuously optimize Genesys’ sustainable strategy:
  • Analyze performance, define targets in collaboration with all company functions.

Amplify/coach the execution of sustainable practices across Genesys:
  • Cooperate with functional leaders. Orchestrate and coordinate the launch of new sustainability initiatives.

Represent Genesys Sustainability Strategy in the public:
  • Spokesperson in public relations. Participate in key sustainability interest groups, sustainable investors (with Investor Relations).

Drive a consolidated budget for sustainability:
  • Represent our sustainable strategy as part of budgeting cycles.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years leading sustainability efforts with a deep understanding of stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting standards including limited and reasonable assurance, strategy management, and key sustainability performance indicators.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience building and managing programs, influencing executives, and supporting development initiatives with a clear track record of success.

  • MBA and/or degree in sustainability and related fields.

  • Experience leading transformation with great communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build strong, trusted relationships with executives (business acumen, ability to see the big picture and connect dots, strategic thinking, strong influence skills).

  • Proven success leading teams and working in a collaborative, matrixed environment.

Desired Skills:
  • Work experience at a publicly recognized sustainability leader.

  • Experience in the software industry in general and the CX (Customer experience) software space specifically.

  • Experience in integrated reporting.

  • Management consulting background.

  • Polished and engaging presenter both in person and virtually.
